Are you, or is someone you know, interested in becoming Catholic?
The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA, formerly RCIA) is the process for adults who desire to join the Catholic faith and for those seeking more information on the Catholic Church.
OCIA can also be a way for Catholics to
complete the reception of their sacraments of
initiation. The manual used in the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults states that the rite is designed for adults “who after hearing the mystery of Christ proclaimed, consciously and freely seek the living God.”
OCIA IS FOR:
• Those who were never baptized and now hope to make the Catholic Church their home.
• Those who were baptized into another Christian tradition but are called to the fullness of the
Catholic faith.
• Those who were baptized into the Catholic Church as infants but never received religious education, First Communion, or Confirmation.
